
Learn to Row – Adult and Youth (ages 11 and up)
We have a combined Adult and Youth Learn to Row program (to allow families the convenience of coming down to the club and learning to row at the same time)
Benefits: This program is designed for beginners to introduce youth/adult beginners to the sport of rowing or for anyone who has no previous rowing experience. Our focus is on athletes gaining rowing knowledge, skill development, and fitness in larger crew boats with some opportunity to train in smaller boats, including training singles. Programs will run rain or shine so there will be no refunds for inclement weather.
Safety: Participants will be coached by experienced coaches in a fully-equipped motorized coach boat, including life jackets, and other safety equipment. All coaches have proper police background checks. A swim waiver is required for youth athletes and will be sent out to participants via email once registration is completed or alternatively provide proof of a swim test or of Bronze Medallion/Cross or better.
Eligibility: No prior rowing experience required. Designed for Adult and Youth Beginners/New to Rowing
Frequency:
Summer Evenings: June and July are Wednesday and Friday nights from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and Sunday mornings 10:30 am -12:30 pm (note some months may have a reduced number of sessions due to regattas)
Fall Saturday 12:30 – 2:30 pm and Sunday 1:00-3:00 pm

2. Select “Join a Program”. Choose “Ontario” and “South Niagara Rowing Club” from the drop-
down menus.
3. Select the appropriate program/s, check the dates to ensure that you are joining the correct

4. Create an account. Parent/Guardian will need to register for youth athletes. Use the parent/guardian email and phone number however register using the youth athlete’s name and birthdate etc. (or Log-in if you are returning from a previous year)
5. Complete on-line registration and accept the waivers.
6. Methods of payment:
Credit card payment using weblink via Rowing Canada on-line registration system.
Cheque made payable to South Niagara Rowing Club. Drop off payment in mail box located outside of the office portable prior to first day
Once the Registrar is in possession of on-line rowing program registration confirmation and program fee payment, you will receive an email stating that you are registered in the program. Athletes not registered with the SNRC and Rowing Canada are not permitted to be on the water. Any athlete with unpaid fees from previous sessions will have to make payment before being allowed on the water.
Rowing Development Program – Adult/Youth (ages 15 and up)
We have a combined Adult and Youth Rowing Development program which is for participants who have an interest in further developing their rowing skills and fitness beyond our Learn to Row program or are just getting back into the sport.
Benefits: This program is for adults and youth (ages 15 and up) who have completed our Adult/Youth Learn to Row program or anyone who has some previous recreational or competitive rowing experience and are wanting to work on further developing their rowing skills and physical fitness in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere with 3 sessions per week.
Safety: Participants will be coached by experienced coaches in a fully-equipped motorized coach boat, including life jackets, and other safety equipment. All coaches have proper police background checks. A swim waiver is required for youth athletes and will be sent out to participants via email once registration is completed and prior to the session start or alternatively provide proof of a swim test or of Bronze Medallion/Cross or better. Swim tests should include front roll entry, tread water 1 min, swim 50m and putting on a PFD.
Eligibility: Designed for Adult and Youth who have completed Learn to Row or has previous rowing experience.
Frequency: 3 Sessions per Week. Tuesdays and Thursdays evenings from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, and Saturday mornings from 9:30 am – 11:30 am.

Bantam Rowing Program (U15)
This program is a competitive development program for youth ages 11-15 who are interested in
eventually pursuing competitive rowing in either a high school or club program. Youth will get a
taste of what it takes to train and compete but in a fun and supportive environment.
Benefits: The Bantam Rowing Program program is for youth ages 11-15 who have already participated in our Youth Summer Camp or Learn to Row programs and are looking to further develop their rowing skills and knowledge with the intent to pursue competitive rowing. This program will focus on skill development, technique and improving general fitness, speed and strength before the participant moves on to a competitive rowing program stream. Training will
normally consist of work in sculling boats (1x/2x/4x), including training singles.
Safety: Participants will be coached by experienced coaches in a fully-equipped motorized coach boat, including life jackets, and other safety equipment. All coaches have proper police background checks. Bantam Plus: Designed for Youth that have already competed in a regatta, are competent rowing a 1x and are planning to transition from Bantam into the Summer Junior Competitive program. Subject to coach approval.
Frequency: 3 Sessions per week. Monday and Tuesday 5:30pm-7:30pm and Saturday 9:30am- 11:30am
